SAFARI DETAILS
We begin in Amboseli National Park, spending three nights photographing one of Africa’s most iconic wildlife landscapes. Famous for its legendary super tusker elephants and sweeping views of Mount Kilimanjaro, Amboseli offers exceptional opportunities for elephant behaviour, intimate portraits, and wide environmental compositions. The open plains and seasonal swamps also attract predators and abundant plains game, creating a diverse and rewarding photographic environment. This small-group photo safari is limited to just 6 guests, with only 3 photographers per vehicle and one dedicated photo host per car, ensuring space, flexibility, and personalised guidance throughout.
From Amboseli, we continue to Tsavo for two nights at a specialised photographic hide experience. Here, photography takes place from a professionally designed underground hide positioned at eye level with a wildlife waterhole. This unique setting allows for close-range, low-impact encounters with elephants, predators, and elusive nocturnal species. The hide environment offers controlled lighting conditions and rare behavioural moments, making it a powerful and immersive photographic experience both day and night.
The journey concludes with four nights in the Masai Mara, one of Africa’s most celebrated wildlife photography destinations. Known for its dense predator populations and dramatic wildlife interactions, the Mara offers consistent opportunities to photograph lions, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas, and other key species. During the migration season, this region also provides the chance to photograph the Great Migration, with vast herds of wildebeest and zebra moving across the plains and, at times, dramatic river crossings. The Mara’s open savannahs deliver clean backgrounds, dynamic action, and classic East African imagery, creating high-impact photographic moments across every game drive.
Designed for photographers of all skill levels, this safari blends iconic landscapes, specialised photographic access, and expert in-field guidance for a deeply rewarding wildlife photography experience.
LOCATION
This tour explores three of Kenya’s most iconic wildlife regions: Amboseli National Park, Tsavo, and the Masai Mara. Amboseli National Park is renowned for its vast open plains and some of Africa’s most impressive super tusker elephants, often photographed against the dramatic backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro. The combination of open landscapes, seasonal swamps, and rich wildlife diversity creates outstanding conditions for elephant behaviour, environmental portraits, and predator encounters. Clean sightlines and expansive horizons make Amboseli an exceptional destination for creative wildlife photography. Tsavo offers a highly specialised photographic experience through two nights at a professionally designed underground photo hide. Positioned at eye level with a wildlife waterhole, the hide provides intimate, low-impact access to elephants, plains game, predators, and elusive nocturnal species. Day and night sessions allow for controlled lighting, close proximity, and the opportunity to capture rare behaviours that are impossible to photograph on traditional game drives. The Masai Mara completes the journey with some of Africa’s most dynamic wildlife photography. Known for its dense predator populations and classic savannah scenery, the Mara offers regular sightings of lions, leopards, cheetahs, and hyenas. During the migration season, vast herds of wildebeest and zebra move through the region, sometimes accompanied by dramatic river crossings, creating powerful opportunities to photograph large-scale wildlife movement and intense predator-prey interactions.

EQUIPMENT TO BRING
Guests are encouraged to bring one or two camera bodies with a minimum of 24-megapixels to guarantee the best results. This can be mirrorless or a DSLR. Guests are encouraged to bring a camera body with a minimum of 24-megapixels to guarantee the best results while on safari. This can be mirrorless or a DSLR, as your photo host is experienced with both and will be able to offer assistance whenever need be. A second camera body is always a great consideration, however, this is not mandatory. This can be used as a backup, or you can keep a second lens attached and switch back and forth between cameras. LENSES: 70–200mm lens: Perfect for hide photography in Samburu, where you'll often be photographing animals at close to mid-range. This lens provides ideal framing for tight compositions, portraits, and behavior shots in intimate hide settings. 500mm lens (prime or zoom): A must-have for the Masai Mara, especially during the Great Migration, when you'll want maximum reach to capture dramatic river crossings, predator interactions, and large herds on the move. The 500mm allows you to photograph from a respectful distance while still producing high-impact imagery.
